BurdaStyle Roses Dress

I have been sooo hectic lately with wedding organising I have been neglecting my blog a little which I apologise for and I have made myself put some time aside to take some photos. More posts coming very soon for Simplicity pattern 1873 (three dresses in total!).

I ended up having my engagement shoot and I really wanted to wear this red roses dress. However, it was raining pretty heavily on the day and it being white I was worried it would turn see through! So I opted for a black dress instead and luckily because we basically shot in the rain.

Here is some photos anyway, this is the same dress the BurdaStyle Panel Dress and very similar to my Blue Flower Burdastyle panel dress.

Here are some pictures from my actual engagement shoot. I ended up making the pugs some little outfits for the photos.  This pattern is from McCall 5998 pattern. I just made it a bit smaller in height to fit the pugs properly as they weren't too happy having one that was really long (trying to shake it off!).

The professional photos with us and the pugs.

Puggies in their engagement photo outfits.

  3. Love the black border contrast you incorporated into the dress! It makes a big statement. Also, your pugs are ADORABLE. We brought our pups along when we had engagement photos done, but they didn't dress for the occasion. Very cute.

  9. Wow! So so cute. The dress and the PUGS! Love it! We had to use bikes for our wedding shoots as we didn't have any cute puppies to pose with haha. I hope all the last minute wedding things are coming together for you, will the pugs feature at the wedding as well?

  12. Squeeee, puggies! So cute! Looks like the photo session turned out just fine, even in the rain-the umbrella is charming :)
I adore the dress. Sometimes floral can look matronly, but I think the addition of the black belt and the black panel at the bottom really modernize the dress.
