Tilly and The Buttons - Mathilde Blouse

After seeing some really gorgeous versions of this top - most recently from Maude I decided I needed this top! Plus I have been wanting to make a heap of tops for Me Made May since this is the garment most lacking in my self-made closet!

What can I say about this pattern, it's beautiful and I love it! It's the perfect fit for me which is sometimes a bit difficult as I have wide shoulders. There was no pulling at the shoulders or sleeves, it was fitted yet still roomy and most of all its a cute/pretty design. I highly recommend this pattern!! I loved it so much I did what I typically do when I love a pattern.... I made it 3 times :)

I do apologise as these photos are not the best. It was only just light enough outside to take the photos but I probably should have timed it a few hours earlier!

White snap buttons on the back!

The top front yoke and the sleeve bindings are a slightly different material!

Fabric covered buttons on the back.

I used snaps for the back of this top! I love snaps they are so easy!

Tilly has also done an incredible job of explaining this pattern step-by-step. Her instructions are so easy and you end up making a really beautiful, well finished top in a matter of a few hours! Make sure you check out the Makers Gallery for more inspiration!

HENS PARTY DRESS!
Now this weekend I am trying to pin a dress to make for my Hens party in only 3 weeks!!! I started making the Gerties Bombshell dress (as shown below) but then realised its starting to get a bit cold in Brissy and I might have to reconsider. However, this dress will be amazing for summer and possibly my honeymoon in Hawaii so I will definitely finish it!

There are too many choices when you can make your own outfits!!

I have my engagement photo shoot coming up in 2 weeks so I am trying really hard to pin down a dress to make with this beautiful red and black rose fabric. I don't want to wreck it though so its been hard deciding. Plus the Hens dress!! I also wanted to make the pugs little outfits because we are taking them to the photo shoot as well hehe!!

    1. Thank you hehe its so much easier when you find a pattern you love you can pump them out in no time. Oh No I should have explained what the Hens party was hehe. Its pretty much an excuse for all of the Bridesmaids to embarrass and take out the bride for a night out! My bridesmaids have planned a lunch in the city and then drinks afterwards so nothing too naughty like most normally do (such as strippers and topless waiters lol!)

    1. Thanks Rosi your so cute. I hope little bubby has been well and no doubt keeping you busy!! I had to check about this one cause I got my mum to do it for me. She get the snaps from http://www.snapsaustralia.com.au/ and just orders a heap. She seems to save a bit of money getting them in more bulk packs. Let me know if you need any more info and I can ask mum :)

  11. You do tend to sew in multiples! I am totally the same way. And before sewing, I always had a hard time wanting to buy the same garment in various colors/prints. I wish your 1st and 3rd ones were in my closet.

    1. Hehe I'm totally the same one outfit in every colour!! I tend to do the same with shoes cause I find it hard to find shoes I really like. So good when we can make the outfits ourselves we don't look so crazy hehe!!

But you have 3 weeks so I bet it is coming along great! Are you using any of you fabulous sewing skills for the wedding? 1. Hey Roxy! I think I might still try a few more patterns I'm wondering if its going to be a bit cold for the bornbshell. Still so much work to do with it too. I'm getting my dress made as I think that would just be too stressful for the moment haha. We are making the bridesmaids dresses!! So lots to do after the hens. We booked our honeymoon to Hawaii last night as well so lots of excitement!
