Copy Cat Challenge

To coincide with Patterns Reviews current Pinterest inspired competition I have decided to add a sewing challenge to my blog. However, since there are a couple of other sew along's at the moment I don't want to add any time frames to stress anyone out.

Pattern Reviews current competition is clothing items that are inspired by Pinterest and is running from Feb 1st - Feb 28th so you better get cracking if you want to enter!

Since you may be making something anyway I would love for you to email me any photos of clothing items that you have created by being inspired by either Pinterest, your latest shopping trip, your favourite clothing company etc, etc.

I will be posting up any pictures and will link back to your blog if you are able to provide me a link. There is no time frame for when you need to have created this so if there is something you already have please send it through!

I will also announce prizes along the way and ensure that everyone has a great chance of winning something they love, no matter where you live. Not to mention this will be a great challenge for yourself to make that item of clothing you just cant afford or don't want to spend your money on because you know you can make it instead.

To start this off I will show you my latest dress that was inspired by a Cue Clothing dress (my favourite clothing brand).

Entrants and photos will be posted on my Copy Cat Challenge page!

How to Enter:

Please email any images through to erin@iheartfabric.com.au

For any ideas you can check out my Clothing Inspiration - pinterest board.
I have gone a little crazy!

Don't forget to add the copy cat widget to your blog. Please let me know if you need any widgets at different sizes and I can send you the code.

  1. Oh good I'm glad there is not a time frame since I'm in two sew alongs at the moment. I will definitely sew something up. Just not quite sure yet. Probably something from Modcloth. I love their dresses but they are so dang expensive!

Are you doing Madmen? Still trying to figure out what outfit to make for that one hehe. I gotta check out Modcloth now haha!

  4. What a fun idea! I think I'm in, because I already have an idea. Just yesterday I was thinking of making a pair of jean trousers inspired by my favourite pair of jeans. Good thing there is no time frame, since I'm currently at home with the flu... :(

BTW, here's a blog about sewing, the blogger is so good at "copying" RTW that she wants. Check it out:

Your pants sound like a fabulous idea and no rush I will just post them up as they get sent through and I can have a few prizes along the way. 1. Thanks Diya! I wish I could draft patterns your so clever! I have to really test them out and make a few versions before I know what to change etc. I'd love to do a pattern making course but there aren't many available near me and book out quite quickly. Hopefully with this challenge I can learn a few more things and get inspired by others! Thanks for adding to your blog can't wait to see what everyone creates!

  7. Did you know you can do pattern making at TAFE at the Mt Gravatt campus? I am doing millinery there and the patter making is just down the corridor. I love your Pinterest page. So many lovely dresses. You have great taste.

    1. I have seen they do a pattern making at the TAFE there but I am a bit reluctant because I did a short course in web and didnt really get much out of it. I should probably see if I can get some feedback from anyone doing it. Glad you found my Pinterest page helpful lol, its a good time waster!
