Liebster Award

I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by Alison from Cats and Crafts, Jenny from Byrdie Couture and also Michelle from Book Worm Sewist. Firstly, thank you so much guys your support means the world to me. The award is for bloggers with less than 200 followers/readers to bring them into the limelight and hopefully increase their readership.

Personally, I kinda like that I don't have too many followers because I feel like I know all the people following and commenting on my blog and I like that I can talk and comment back. Also follow them back and share and see what they create in return. I hate it when blogs get so big and your just another number commenting on their blog and never really hear back.

The Rules:
  • Post 11 facts about yourself
  • Answer the 11 questions posed by your nominator
  • Nominate up to 5 other blogs and ask them 11 questions of your own
I have only just listed a heap of blogs I love and read on a daily basis on my top 5 of 2012 post but I actually went through my blog list yesterday and found so many blogs that deserve more attention so these are the blogs I will list for this Liebster Award.(Even though some have more followers than me hehe)!!

Rosi Button
All of her clothes are adorable and she picks the best patterns. The photo to the right is of Rosi pregnant so any of those pregnant ladies out there she makes the BEST maternity clothes and looks super gorgeous wearing them.

She has made a heap of Vogue Patterns, Simplicity, Sewaholic, Burda, Butteric etc etc and lots of Maternity and kids clothing. What more could you ask for!
Sew Lonnie
Lonnie has made such adorable outfits and after seeing her blog I have added a whole heap of patterns to my wishlist that I never would have even considered!

Lonnie has the best tops, some with bows, lace, multicoloured, two tone etc etc. Also some other beautiful items, especially her dresses! Common everyone more support for this blog!!
Otga Hasbold
I found Otga's blog because she WON the recent TESSUTI competition and her clothes show why, they are adorable!

Otga's clothes look professional I think if you put them in a store and labelled them you would think they were a designer brand. Her fabrics are amazing and choice of patterns are perfect for her. She has also made some beautiful clothes for her daughter, how lucky is she!
Valeries Own Sewing Blog
Not only is Valerie a really beautiful and kind lady but she is a massive inspiration. I really look up to Valeria and admire everything she sews she always look so wonderful in her creations.

I can't really sum up any one thing Valerie sews because she does it all. Even a recent *awesome* tie die dress that would have turned out a nightmare if I was doing it. Just amazing!
Buzzy Lizzie (in Brissy)
Okay now I think I might have found a theme with my Liebster award because going through them all they are all Aussie (I swear that wasn't intentional!) hehe. So keeping up the theme I am going to finally introduce to you one of my favourites Buzzy Lizzie in Brissy!

I check out Lizzie's blog on a daily basis she has the best patterns and once again such gorgeous outfits!
My questions
Should you choose to repost and pass it forward yourself!
  1. When did you start sewing and what introduced you to sewing?
  2. What other crafts do you do?
  3. What do you look for in a sewing blog?
  4. Who is your inspiration?
  5. Do you have a bizarre talent?
  6. What's your favourite thing to sew or create for yourself or others?
  7. What have you always wanted to sew but haven't yet, and why?
  8. Do you have an phobias?
  9. What's something you like to treat yourself with?
  10. What was one of your favourite things growing up?
  11. Where would you most want to travel in the world and why?
Alison's and Michelle's Questions combined.
  1. What other crafts do you do? I also paint. That's about it really.
  2. What is your favourite food? Being allergic to dairy took out my favourite foods by far! So now my favourite is Banana smoothies which I have for breakfast which include other non dairy products hehe.
  3. What is your best physical feature? How does that affect what sorts of garments you sew?
I have found that I have a bit of an hourglass shape and I find things that are slimmer fitting (straight up and down) work the best for my body shape. Puffy tops and bottoms just bulk up my bum or shoulders and don't suit my body at all. Not sure if that's my best physical feature but that's definitely what I work with in picking what pattern I sew.
  4. Can you drive a stick shift? hehe I like this question its very American. I have my manual license so what's that a stick?
  5. What is your worst habit? This one is easy. I bite my lips and inside of my cheeks all the time. I think its equivalent to others biting their finger nails? Weird I know, I blame my mum because she does it too!
  6. Do you have any random or bizarre talents? I can move my nose up and down (like a rabbit) whilst also flaring my nostrils. Not that many people seem to be able to do both?
  7. Who is your favourite fashion designer? I am not really into fashion itself (big fashion labels etc) but I am a massive online shopper. My favourite brands of clothing however I can name as Cue Clothing, ASOS and French Connection.
  8. What is your favourite movie?  I love love love pixar films so I will say WALL E and How to train a dragon is up there as my favourites.
  9. What is your happiest childhood moment? I was a massive tomboy growing up I didnt even own a dress until I was about 21. I used to love riding my bike up and down to local beach with all my friends that lived along the way. I really wanted a bmx bike because all the boys had one and when I said I wanted to get one they laughed at me and said I couldn't because I was a girl. I told my dad about it and how I wanted one for my birthday so he took me to the bike shop and ended up buying me one of the best bmx bikes in the shop. Lets just say the next time I rode down to the beach the boys were shocked and completely jealous!! hehe.
  10. What is your favourite thing you have ever made (clothing or not)? I would probably say the Mickey Mouse painting that I did for my sisters first little boy, Jake. Only because it was such an exciting time in our family (first baby or grandchild) so making this was really rewarding and I like the fact he can grow up with it in his room.
  11. What is your favourite book?  I am a big nerd and going to say Richelle Meads Vampire Academy. Yes these books are in the children's section but they are better than Twilight O.K.A.Y!
